We admit to having a certain obsession with not only gadgets but space-saving gadgets, which makes the new Powramid surge suppressor something of a cheap thrill. It’s only five inches wide, so it’ll unobtrusively fit under any desk, but the clever placement of its six outlets means it can easily accommodate bulky transformer blocks as well as regular plugs. And it comes in four varieties: black or white, each with your choice of a five-foot or eight-foot cord. There’s even a little protective cap covering the master on/off switch so you won’t accidentally kill the power to your laptop in the middle of writing that 2,000-word document you’ve been neglecting to save.
